Many people in the community of Lakeshore, and others from past projects, are quite familiar with the three quonset huts here that have acted as a distribution center for the past years. This week a project crew is adding the finishing touches to the Mercy House, a two story building across the street from the main church, which will replace the old quonset huts.
The Mercy House is meant to be an outreach to the community, just as the distribution center has been for years. It will not only house the new distribution center, the second story will serve as a meeting room intended to host group seminars like one held here in the past few months, on "How to Stretch Your Groceries". Lakeshore Baptist Church is hoping that these seminars will equip the community with skills that will be more than just what the downstairs distribution can give.
This video is a brief documentary about the Mercy House, and the many hands that worked together, out of love, to build it. Churches from across the nation have gathered this week to assist Lakeshore Baptist Church, while Lakeshore Baptist Church serves its community.
